Karachi: Popular Pakistani showbiz actor and producer Nabeel Zafar has clarified his attitude towards Indian films.
Nabeel Zafar recently took part in a podcast discussing the issue of showing Hindi films in cinemas in Pakistan.
The actor said that cinema owners in Pakistan want Indian films to be screened because they want their business to continue. It is a well-known fact that Hindi movies boost the movie business. However, he does not want Indian content to be aired in Pakistan.
He said that he is not against Indian films or dramas, but since India does not buy Pakistani dramas and films, he believes that there is no reason to show his films in our cinemas in Pakistan.
Nabeel Zafar said that India’s population is 1.5 billion and Pakistan’s population is 250 million. He told India that it should buy Pakistani content at least according to its population.
The actor said Pakistanis are friendly and generous. When Indians visit Pakistan, shopkeepers often do not charge for goods or food, and Pakistani actors do not receive such treatment in India.
He said many felt that Pakistani actors should flee to India and return to their homeland. He said that Pakistan is better in terms of hospitality.
Nabeel Zafar said that if Indian films are to be shown in Pakistani cinemas, Pakistani films should be shown in Indian cinemas, whether they are hits or not.
He said that the Indian industry does not even buy Pakistani dramas. The Zindagi channel, which broadcasts Pakistani dramas, was also shut down.
Nabeel Zafar said that there is a lot of talent in Pakistan, but corruption in the country has destroyed all sectors.
