T20 World Cup 2024
Pakistan’s campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 will begin on June 6 in the United States, where they will lock horns with arch-rivals India, Ireland, Canada and fellow United States in Group A.
However, the Green Shirts are scheduled to play the T20I series against Ireland and the team leaves for the European country tomorrow.
After the Ireland tour, Pakistan will travel to England for another four T20I series to boost their World Cup campaign.
According to the latest updates, the 18-man squad announced for the Ireland and England T20Is will become the 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after the first T20I against England on May 22.
The deadline for team submission, originally set for May 1, has been extended to May 25, giving the team flexibility to make the necessary adjustments and approval from the event’s technical committee.
The tournament format divides the 20 qualifiers into five groups of four, with only the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super 8 stage, with the playoffs intensifying. From there, the journey to the top will culminate in the final on June 29 as the teams battle it out for cricketing glory.
