Army General Syed Asim Munir said that those who violate the clear prohibition on freedom of speech in the Constitution cannot point fingers at others.

In an inspiring speech to the young men, General Munir stated that Article 19 of the Constitution clearly defines the limits of freedom of speech and thought.

Speaking directly to the cadets, the army reiterated their importance as the center of hope and guardian of the sky, showing their character, indifference and competence throughout their military career.
“You are the center of our hope, the guardian of the sky and the guarantor of the integrity of the region,” he said, adding, “Your actions will be remarkable not only for your personal integrity, but also for the institution.”
He also told the cadets that they should not hesitate to sacrifice their country’s defense, honor and dignity. The military leaders want you to always uphold the eternal tradition of the best spirit of our nation, the excellence and bravery of the institution. “
Furthermore, COAS noted the constitutional limits of freedom of speech and expression and cautioned against abrogating these limits by expecting constitutional principles to be observed from all limits.
“We are very aware of our constitutional limits and hope others prefer to follow the Constitution as well,” he said.
He also touched on the impact of the regional arms race, which he said could disrupt the balance of power, and said advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and quantum computing also change the use of air power. to extend the range.
“Without a strong air force, a country is at the mercy of attackers,” the army chief said, adding that Pakistan’s air force always meets the country’s needs.
General Munir reflected on the bravery and excellence of the Pakistan Air Force and praised its devotion to duty, citing notable examples such as its bravery in the February 2019 conflict.
He also condemned the unprecedented violence witnessed in conflicts like the Gaza war and reiterated Pakistan’s continued support to the oppressed, especially in Kashmir. He said that Gaza is an example of the suffering that war can bring, and the extrajudicial killing of elderly women, children and women in Gaza is a sign of increasing violence around the world.
“Always remember that truth is power and lies will never be strong,” the army chief said.
Taking inspiration from national heroes like General Munir, Rashid Minhas, Sarfaraz Rafiki and MM Alam, he urged the cadets to remain committed to the nation and protect the dignity of Pakistan. Emphasizing the importance of loyalty to the country, he urged the cadets to emulate the service and sacrifice of those who came before them.
