Bollywood actor Sanjay Kapoor, the younger brother of senior actors Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor, comes from the renowned Kapoor family, which currently holds a prominent position in Bollywood. This family is considered one of the wealthiest in Mumbai, but they did not always enjoy such affluence.
In a recent interview with Indian media, Sanjay Kapoor reminisced about the days when he did not have a good home to live in or even a bed to sleep on. He revealed that initially, the family lived in a two-bedroom apartment in Chembur. After the death of his grandmother, his grandfather moved in with them, and Sanjay had to give up the room he shared with his sister Rina to accommodate him.
Sanjay Kapoor further shared that they used to sleep on mattresses in that room. The family only had one air conditioner, which was in his parents’ room. As a result, he would sometimes sleep on the sofa in their room during the night.
Reflecting on his parents’ sacrifices, Sanjay mentioned that they never traveled abroad until they had sent the whole family overseas and provided the best education for their children.
It is also worth mentioning that in a previous interview, Boney Kapoor had spoken about the family’s struggles, sharing that his father was brought to Mumbai by Prithviraj Kapoor, and his grandfather had entrusted his father to Prithviraj Ji because he had left almost 10-12 jobs before settling down in the film industry.
