The United States is urging Afghanistan to take tougher measures against terrorism on its borders.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller emphasized the importance of Afghanistan fulfilling its commitment to prevent the use of its territory for terrorist activities.
“We are determined that Afghanistan will ensure that its territory is not used for terrorism again,” Miller said. He further emphasized the need for the Taliban to keep its anti-terror promises to the international community.
“It is clear that Afghanistan has a responsibility to prevent the establishment of safe havens for terrorist organizations,” Miller emphasized.

He stressed the importance of Afghanistan’s stance against groups such as al-Qaeda and ISIS, stressing the critical need to deny them sanctuary within Afghanistan’s borders.
A spokesperson for the US State Department chose not to respond to questions about the Atchison College principal during the press conference.
