A British woman set a unique record by running the Norwegian Marathon in a polar bear costume, completing the distance in 4 hours, 58 minutes, and 29 seconds.
54-year-old teacher Gill Pint from Essex participated in the Polar Night Marathon held in Tromsø, Norway, where runners raced in harsh, dark mountainous paths under temperatures of minus 10°C.
Gill Pint crossed the finish line in her polar bear suit, setting the Guinness World Record for the fastest completion of an ice marathon by a woman in the Polar Night Marathon.
Her efforts raised $25,628 for Cancer Research UK, and so far, Gill has collected a significant total of $2.39 million for the charity.
Gill explained that she uses her marathon efforts to raise money for charity in memory of her father, who passed away in 1999 at the age of 56.
