TikTok releases its Q4 2023 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report

Islamabad – In its continued efforts to promote a safe and positive online environment, TikTok has unveiled its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the fourth quarter of 2023. This release highlights TikTok’s unwavering commitment to transparency, safety, and inclusivity, reflecting its commitment to building trust and providing a safe platform for its global community.

During the period from October to December 2023, TikTok’s proactive measures resulted in the removal of 176,461,963 videos worldwide, representing about 1.0% of all videos uploaded to the platform. A substantial portion of these, 128,300,584 videos, were identified and removed using automated detection technologies, while 8,038,106 videos were recovered after further review.

In Pakistan alone, the platform took action against 18,596,077 videos for Community Guidelines violations in the fourth quarter, underscoring its commitment to effectively combating violations. In addition, TikTok aggressively monitored spam accounts and related content and implemented robust measures to prevent the proliferation of automated spam accounts.

Notably, around 95.3% of videos that violated the guidelines were removed within 24 hours of being posted, and the proactive removal rate for the quarter reached an impressive 99.5% globally. In a global effort to protect younger users, TikTok also deleted 19,848,855 accounts suspected of belonging to individuals under the age of 13.
