Islamabad:- TikTok announced the introduction of new features aimed at community guidelines and empowering creators and providing a safe and comfortable environment for the global community. This update, effective May 17, includes clearer definitions, new features for policy understanding, and improved tools for monitoring account status.
TikTok has updated its community guidelines to provide clearer definitions and more detailed information about its policies on hate speech, health misinformation, and content modification. These additional tools are designed to increase users’ understanding and transparency of TikTok’s rules and enforcement practices.
To ensure a safer experience on your feed, TikTok is implementing new compliance standards. Creators who repeatedly post content that violates these standards will see their accounts temporarily disqualified from being recommended in the For You feed. Additionally, your content will appear less in search results. Affected developers will receive notice and an opportunity to appeal this decision.
To help creators understand TikTok’s rules, the platform introduced an alert system. The first time a developer violates the Community Guidelines, they will receive a warning that does not count towards an account attack. Future violations will be tracked and penalized accordingly. TikTok will notify creators of specific rules that have been violated and provide instructions on how to file a potential violation.
To further support creators, TikTok introduced a new feature called ‘Account Verification’. This tool allows creators to check their accounts and recent posts, giving them a clear picture of their status on TikTok. ‘Account Verification’ will show any restrictions on features such as comments or direct messaging due to policy violations, and will show content that has been removed or restricted from the To Your Feed feed. This feature complements the existing ‘Account Status’ page by providing a comprehensive view of developer compliance and platform rules.
In addition, TikTok offers the TikTok Developer Terms of Conduct, which sets standards for creators who participate in TikTok’s apps, features, events, and campaigns. This code, which will be implemented in the coming weeks, reflects the responsibility of the developers on and off the platform, ensuring a consistent and positive experience for all participants.
TikTok aims to improve the safety and experience of more than one billion users worldwide. This update shows that TikTok is supporting the creator community with the tools and information they need to thrive on the platform.
