The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to remove Babar Azam from the captaincy of all formats due to the poor performance of the national cricket team in the ICC World Cup.
According to media reports, if captain Babar Azam separates himself from the leadership, then the board will accept it, otherwise he will be sacked.
Reports have claimed that Shaheen Shah Afridi is a strong candidate to lead the team in T20 while Shaan Masood in Test format.
The selection committee was dismissed on the basis of poor performance in the World Cup
It should be noted that in 2019, Babar Azam was entrusted with the captaincy duties in place of Sarfaraz Ahmed, while in 2020, he was also given the post of captain of the Test team.

Under the leadership of Babar Azam, the national team failed to win any major ICC title including the Asia Cup.
