A giant cowboy hat has been unveiled at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) racetrack in Austin, Texas, ahead of the upcoming Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. The massive structure has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest cowboy hat.
Created through a collaboration between COTA and Austin-based Western-wear brand Tecovas, the oversized replica is based on the company’s Cattleman Cowboy Hat. The fiberglass-and-foam structure, built around a steel frame, measures 43 feet wide, 47 feet long and 17 feet high. A Guinness adjudicator inspected the installation on October 19 and confirmed its record status.
The larger-than-life attraction was unveiled as part of celebrations surrounding the 2026 Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix and is expected to remain at the racetrack beyond the race weekend. A bar has also been incorporated beneath the giant hat for visitors and race fans.
