Taliban authorities publicly executed two men convicted of murder at a soccer stadium in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday, according to an AFP journalist.
The two men were executed by multiple shots in the back in the city of Ghazni after Supreme Court official Atiqullah Darwish read aloud the death warrant signed by top Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada.
“These two people were convicted of the crime of murder… after two years of trial in the courts of the country, the warrant was signed,” Darwish said.
