Colombo: Chris Silverwood has stepped down as the head coach of the Sri Lankan cricket team following his poor performance in the ICC T20 World Cup.
According to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Chris Silverwood has tendered his resignation due to personal reasons.
Chris Silverwood said he had to spend more time away from his family to become an international coach, and he had decided to step down after extensive consultation with family and close friends.
He said it was time to go back and spend some quality time with his family.
It is worth noting that Mahela Jayawardene, Sri Lanka’s batting consultant, has resigned the other day.
