ISLAMABAD: The test results of a suspected case of mpox reported from PIMS Hospital in Islamabad have turned out to be negative, according to the spokesperson for Ministry of Health Sajid Hussain Shah.
The sample of 47-year-old suspected individual from Azad Kashmir was sent to the National Institute of Health for testing.
The health ministry spokesperson confirmed that Pakistan has reported only one confirmed case of mpox to date. He said the Ministry of Health is actively monitoring the situation and has assured the public that effective measures are being implemented to protect against mpox transmission.
Spokesperson Sajid Hussain Shah emphasized the importance of continued vigilance and public awareness in preventing the spread of the disease. Authorities have also urged the community to remain informed and follow health guidelines to ensure safety and health.
