The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has finally nominated members for key opposition positions in the Punjab Assembly. Sahibzada Hamid Raza, SIC chief, announced the nominations.
Malik Ahmed Bhachar was appointed as the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, while Moeen Riaz Qureshi was appointed as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition.
Sahibzada Hamid Raza said that Mian Aslam Iqbal, initially nominated for the post of Leader of Opposition, was not allowed to take oath as MPA. Therefore, the new appointments were made in consultation with Mian Aslam and PTI founder Imran Khan.

He further explained that Bhachar was appointed to the post on a temporary basis to ensure effective representation in the opposition.
