KARACHI: Governor of Bank Daulat Pakistan Jameel Ahmed released the State Bank’s strategic plan for 2023 to 2028 “SBP Vision 2028” in a ceremony held in Karachi on Friday.
“State Bank Vision 2028” is the first plan issued after the amendment of the State Bank Act. It outlines the central bank’s motto, mission and key goals set for the next five years. The strategic plan is developed through a consultative and inclusive process with key stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor of State Bank said that “State Bank Vision 2028” is an expression of State Bank’s determination to achieve price stability and financial stability and contribute to the sustainable economic development of the country.
Jameel Ahmed added that the issues taken into consideration while preparing the plan include emerging threats to the economy and financial stability, including climate change, rapid digital innovation and disruption, and growing cyber security threats.
Governor State Bank said that “SBP Vision 2028” covers six key strategic objectives, including keeping inflation within the medium-term target range, and increasing the efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and stability of the financial system. , promoting inclusive and sustainable access to financial services, transitioning to a Shariah-compliant banking system, creating an innovative and inclusive digital financial services ecosystem, and transforming State Bank into a high-tech and people-centric institution. are
These strategic objectives are structured around five core themes, including strategic communication, environmental change, technology innovation, diversity and inclusion, and productivity and competitiveness.
