Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha recently disclosed that in the past, an actor refused to work with her, claiming she appeared older than him.
In an interview with Indian media, Sonakshi shared, “In Bollywood, men are often prioritized over women. An actor once turned down a film with me, saying I looked older than him.”
Without naming the actor, she expressed gratitude for not having to collaborate with someone like that, adding, “I’m lucky I didn’t have to work with him. I wouldn’t want to work with such people either.” Sonakshi clarified that she is actually 5-6 years younger than the actor in question.
Meanwhile, speculation in Indian media points toward Ranbir Kapoor as the actor in question. Reports suggest that Ranbir, despite being 5 years older than Sonakshi, allegedly declined to work with her in a romantic comedy due to her perceived age.
Interestingly, Ranbir Kapoor is known for his on-screen chemistry with various co-stars, including Alia Bhatt in Brahmastra, Deepika Padukone in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Konkona Sen Sharma in Wake Up Sid.
While these reports remain unconfirmed, Sonakshi’s revelations have sparked a broader discussion about the biases and stereotypes faced by women in the film industry.
