Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik rallied behind all-rounder Imad Wasim and fast bowler Mohammad Amir on Thursday.
Expressing his opinion, Malik said: “Now, the national players are in a good position.” It would be better if the team had a good start. A win against England will help Pakistan team start the T20 World Cup with confidence. “
“This is the first time our team plays in the United States. Those who appreciate the situation will also have an advantage,” he said.
Acknowledging Saim Ayub’s talent, Malik said, “Saim Ayub plays while taking risks. He [Saim Ayub] has a lot of talent. It’s good to open with Saim Ayub in high-scoring matches.”
“However, if the batting is slow and the team needs to score 160, the team can open with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan,” he said.
Talking about the high-octane clash between Pakistan and India, Malik said, “We usually see the clash between India and Pakistan as a game.”
“After the match, the players of both teams [India and Pakistan] eat together,” Malik said.
Malik said he has high hopes for Pakistan’s national cricket team.
