Bangladesh have included experienced batsman Shakib Al Hasan in their 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA.
The team, led by batsman Najmul Hussain Shanto, has been facing recent uncertainty over Shakib’s availability due to an eye problem. However, he wants to return to Bangladesh and use his experience and skills in the field of cricket.
Shakib’s re-entry into the T20 international scene comes after a break of almost a year with another win in the recent home series against Zimbabwe. His outstanding performance saw him take five wickets in two matches.
The recall of Sharif Islam, who was a major contributor in the 4-1 series win and after a brief rest, the addition of pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib further boosted Bangladesh’s depth in the mega event.
Sri Lanka are gearing up for an intense World Cup D campaign from June 1 to June 29, which includes opponents like South Africa, Netherlands and Nepal.
