Shah Rukh Khan’s 4 Foods at 59: What a Gastroenterologist Says

At 59, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has attracted attention for his simple approach to food and fitness. According to a report by Times of India, Khan has previously spoken about eating foods including sprouts, grilled chicken, broccoli and small portions of dal. The combination provides a mix of protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals while keeping meals relatively simple.

Gastroenterologist Dr. Pal Manickam highlighted the nutritional value of these foods. Grilled chicken provides lean protein that can support muscle maintenance, while broccoli and sprouts provide fibre and other nutrients associated with digestive health. Dal adds plant-based protein, fibre and minerals, making it a useful component of a balanced diet.

The expert also emphasised that portion control is as important as food selection. Rather than copying a celebrity’s diet exactly, the report suggests using the broader principles as a reference: prioritising nutrient-rich foods, including more fibre-rich pulses and maintaining moderate portions. A balanced eating pattern, combined with an individual’s nutritional needs and lifestyle, remains more important than following any single celebrity diet.
