RAWALPINDI – Seven terrorists were killed in Balochistan’s Zhob district near the Pak-Afghan border when security forces raided the area after receiving information about their presence, Inter-Services Public Relations said on Monday.
Sharing details, the army’s media wing said a large number of arms and ammunition were also seized after the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation.
The eliminated militants were involved in terrorist activities, including attacks on officials and law enforcement officers, as well as killing innocent citizens.
A search operation is underway to clear the area, ISPR said, adding that security forces will make all efforts to establish state order and ensure national security.

Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have seen an increase in terrorist acts in recent months after various nationalist groups and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) based across the western border stepped up their attacks.
Earlier this month, the interior ministry informed the Senate that the TTP had reorganized itself during the peace talks, adding that the training of suicide bomber recruits in the Unified Tribal Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after the terror group’s return was an alarming development.
Zhob borders not only Afghanistan to the west, but also the South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the north. Its location is quite significant given the fact that the southern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have once again become a hub for terrorist activities after the PTI government initiated disastrous peace talks with the TTP.
