HYDERABAD: The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has inspected a bakery in Hyderabad following a pollution complaint lodged with the Regional Ombudsman, collecting environmental data for laboratory analysis to determine the facility’s compliance with applicable environmental standards.
The inspection team examined key environmental parameters, including ambient air quality, stack emissions, furnace temperature and noise levels. Relevant samples and data were collected for analysis through a SEPA-certified laboratory to assess compliance with the Sindh Environmental Quality Standards (SEQS) and the Sindh Environmental Protection Act, 2014.
The inspection was conducted on the directives of SEPA Director General Dr Asiq Ali Langah and under the guidance of SEPA Regional In-charge Hyderabad Ali Nawaz Bhambhro.
Assistant Director Noor Ahmed Nahyoon and Environmental Inspector Mohammad Saleem carried out the inspection.
The laboratory findings are expected to establish whether the bakery meets the applicable environmental requirements. Further action, if warranted, will depend on the results of the analysis and the agency’s assessment of the facility’s compliance.
The inspection highlights SEPA’s role in responding to pollution complaints and monitoring commercial establishments to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and protect public health.
