Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Kohlu district of Balochistan on December 25, killing five militants, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations.

The operation was launched following reports about the presence of militants linked to what the military described as an Indian proxy group in the area. During the operation, troops engaged the suspected location, leading to an exchange of fire.
According to ISPR, five militants were killed during the encounter.

Weapons recovered after operation by security forces
ISPR said weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the site. The militants were described as being involved in multiple attacks in the surrounding areas, though specific incidents were not detailed.
Search operations continue in Kohlu area
Following the encounter, security forces initiated sanitization operations in the area to search for any remaining suspects. The military said such operations are part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts across the country.
Kohlu district is located in eastern Balochistan and has witnessed periodic security operations in recent years amid militant activity.
