Security forces killed two terrorists during an intense gunfight in North Waziristan district, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident took place on the night between February 5 and 6 after forces conducted an intelligence operation on the reported presence of terrorists.
“During the execution of the operation, an intense gunfight took place between our own troops and the terrorists, as a result of which two terrorists were sent to hell, including the leader of the terrorist group, Ayubullah Mansoor,” the ISPR statement said.
She added that arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the slain terrorists who continued to be actively involved in numerous terrorist activities including target killings as well as extortion and kidnapping of innocent civilians.

Besides, a sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, it also said.
Local residents appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the threat of terrorism.
