SBP seeks design ideas from students, designers for new banknotes

The creation and issuance of a new series of banknotes spanning all current denominations has begun at the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), a major step toward improving security measures and keeping up with technological improvements.

In a formal statement issued on Tuesday, the SBP emphasized the intricacy of the issuing process, which calls for careful planning and coordination amongst several stakeholders and entails numerous precise processes and stages. The SBP intends to accelerate the process and finish it within the next two years, despite the standard timeframe of two to three years for the introduction of a new banknote series.
