Samantha Prabhu, a popular Indian actress, recently explained why she has not signed any Tamil films in recent years. Her last Tamil project was Vignesh Shivan, and her upcoming project is Rakhth Brahmand, directed by Raj & DK.
In a recent interview, the 37-year-old actress shared her current approach to selecting film projects. She mentioned that she no longer wishes to take on roles in films where her presence is not essential. Samantha expressed that while doing easy films isn’t difficult, she has reached a stage in her career where she wants to deliver performances as if they are her last. She emphasized her desire to play impactful roles, stating that if she doesn’t believe in a project 100%, she can’t fully commit to it.
Samantha further credited filmmakers Raj and DK for transforming her perspective on her career. She shared that the challenging roles she played in The Family Man Season 2, Citadel: Honey Bunny, and now Rakhth Brahmand have reshaped her desire to choose meaningful projects. She stated that she wants to continue doing roles that feel rewarding, and if she doesn’t get that feeling, she doesn’t want to work at all.
