As the temperate lowered due to recent rains, cloudy weather and smog in various cities of Punjab and Khyber, a massive increase in sale of sand roasted corn has been witness.
People including children, women and even elderly persons are seen enjoying the tasty sand roast corns and ‘Rait Wala Chali’.
The vendours who sell corns backed in sand are seen busy in throughout the day as number of their customers has increase many times.
Earlier, the corn sellers used to look for customers but now the buyers are seen around the vendours waiting for their turn to get corns.
Keeping in view the weather conditions, the sellers of sand roasted corn and ‘Rait Wala Chali’ are seen wandering in markets and streets of the residential sectors pushing their carts and chanting voice inviting the purchasers to come and buy sand roasted corns.
However, with the increase in sale of sand roasted corn, the sellers have also increased their rates in last couple of days. Additional amount of Rs 20 to Rs30 is charged on ‘Rait Wala Chali’.
Gul Khan who sells sand roasted corn in main Blue Area of Islamabad interacting with The Green Post was of the view that his sale is doubled in two days. He said that the PMD has predicted rainfall in parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and snowfall in mountainous areas of country after which sale of sand bake corn will increase further.
