RAWALPINDI: A counterfeit cigarette factory was seized and sealed in Rawalpindi’s Jhangi Syedan neighborhood on the instructions of Member (IR-Operations) Mir Badshah Khan Wazir and the Chief Commissioner of the Regional Tax Office Rawalpindi. Assistant Director Shujaat Khan and his team carried out the raid under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Headquarters Riaz Khan. After seizing millions of rupees in counterfeit cigarettes and machinery, the RTO Team closed the factory.
The aforementioned factory was secretly built in a building’s basement, making and distributing counterfeit cigarettes of various brands across Pakistan.
