Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan organized a grand event titled “RCIM Celebrating 2025 with Passion of Service Above Self” at Islamabad in which a large number of Rotary Club past district Governors, Presidents, Rotarians and valued guests participated. On this occasion, the chief guest of the event, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, while appreciating the services of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan, said that he was very happy to know that Rotary Club is doing such a wonderful job for social welfare. He also suggested the selection of fruit trees for plantation on this occasion. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi said that the services of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for the eradication of polio are not hidden from anyone and in this regard, Ms. Asifa Bhutto Zardari is also carrying forward her mother’s mission for the eradication of polio. He told the participants that he has only one focal person in the Governor House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and he is on polio only, which shows his personal interest in this important issue. He assured his full cooperation in polio as well as other welfare projects and said that the doors of the Governor House are always open for the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan.
On this occasion, President of the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan Shabbir Malik in his welcome address expressed gratitude to Chief Guest Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on behalf of all club members. He said that the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan is the largest club of Rotary District 63.The Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was chartered in 1987. Since then, we have been carrying out the Rotary mission with full force and Alhamdulillah, we deliver 2 to 3 service projects for underprivileged communities every month he added. Shabbir Malik also informed the participants that on January 17, 2025, the Satellite Club of the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan has also been chartered by rotary international, in which 8 highly qualified members have joined, who belong to Australia, England, America and Pakistan. He congratulated all the new members on joining the Rotary Satellite Club. In his address, Shabbir Malik proposed to work together with the Governor House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for social welfare projects, especially for the eradication of polio, on which the Governor KPK assured him of all possible support from the Governor House. On this occasion, a documentary was also presented in which the services of the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan for the last six months were highlighted. Addressing the event, Rotary Advisor Past District Governor Masroor J. Sheikh emphasized on the eradication of polio and said that if we work together, the cases that have increased this year can be reduced next year. He reiterated the commitment of rotary to eradicate polio through mutual cooperation and collaboration. On this occasion, He applauded the leadership role of president RCIM Shabbir Malik and reiterated the club’s dedication to mutual cooperation for humanitarian causes. Rotary Club Secretary Rear Admiral (Retd) Shahid Saeed also spoke on the occasion and thanked Governor Faisal Karim Kundi for his support and said that we will continue this journey of humanitarian service in the same way. At the end of the event, 5 new members who joined the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan last month were awarded with certificates and Rotary pins. The certificates were given to the members by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the pins were given by PDG Masroor J. Sheikh. On this occasion, as a token of appreciation President of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan Shabbir Malik also presented a shield to the chief guest Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
