Indian captain Rohit Sharma holds the record for hitting the most sixes in World Cup matches.
In the match being played against New Zealand at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai, Indian opener Rohit Sharma played an innings of 47 runs off 29 balls which included 4 fours and 4 sixes. He broke West Indies’ Chris Gayle’s record of 49 sixes in the mega event.
Earlier, South Africa’s AB de Villiers 37, Ricky Ponting 31 and New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum are present with 29 sixes.
