Roasted Chicken Shawarma

Ingredients:

  • 5 Pita breads
  • Shredded lettuce as needed
  • 1 cup Hummus

Chicken Ingredients:

  • 300g boneless chicken breast
  • 2 teaspoons Tahini paste
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 chopped garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (crushed)
  • 1 teaspoon white cumin
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder (crushed)

Tabbouleh Salad Ingredients:

  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup diced cucumber
  • 1 cup parsley
  • 1½ cups finely chopped green onions
  • 1 garlic clove (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Cut the chicken into small pieces and place them in a bowl. Add the remaining chicken ingredients and marinate for an hour.
  2. Cook the chicken in a frying pan or bake in the oven.
  3. Mix the tabbouleh salad ingredients in a bowl.
  4. Grill the pita breads and cut them in half.
  5. Fill each pita with cooked chicken, shredded lettuce, hummus, and tabbouleh salad. Serve and enjoy!
