RAWALPINDI: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir on Thursday directed district authorities to expedite ongoing development initiatives, including city beautification, construction of sports grounds, establishment of Sahulat Bazaars, and tree plantation campaigns across the district.
The directives were issued during a high-level development review meeting chaired by the deputy commissioner to assess the progress of key public welfare and infrastructure projects.
The meeting also reviewed proposed locations for new “On-Go” bazaars along GT Road, Gujar Khan, Taxila, and Chak Beli Khan Road to improve access to essential commodities for residents.
The deputy commissioner instructed the relevant departments to submit a detailed report within two days on the restoration of e-green bus stops. He also ordered the immediate repair of damaged roads, securing of open manholes, and removal of illegal animal sheds from urban areas to improve public safety and sanitation.
Emphasizing strict compliance with safety standards, DC Nadeem Nasir directed authorities to ensure the enforcement of building safety regulations in commercial areas and private housing societies across the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance and Planning) Rimsha Javed, Assistant Commissioner Saddar, the Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), and assistant commissioners from various sub-divisions, who reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects and discussed measures to improve service delivery.
