After India’s victory in the T20 World Cup, the appointment of former cricketer and captain Rahul Dravid as the head coach also proved successful.
In the T20 World Cup final, India defeated South Africa by 7 wins in a thrilling contest to claim their second title. Chasing the target of 177 set by India, South Africa managed to score 169 for the loss of 8 wickets and thus again missed out on the title.
With India’s World Cup victory, Rahul Dravid’s journey as the head coach of the Indian team has come to an end. The T20 World Cup is said to be Dravid’s last assignment with the Indian cricket team.
India lifted the T20 World Cup trophy for the second time after 2007 under Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
