South African cricketer Rilee Rossouw has been named as the new captain of Quetta Gladiators for the upcoming season 9 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Alongside Rossouw, Saud Shakeel was appointed as the team’s vice president, signaling a new era of leadership for the franchise.
Sarfaraz Ahmed, known for his impressive record in the PSL, securing wins in 38 out of 80 matches to win the title in 2019, is now passing the baton to Rossouw.
During a team meeting in Lahore, Gladiators head coach Shane Watson announced Rossouw’s appointment.
The decision comes after a thorough consideration by the team management, as revealed by Nadeem Omar, owner of Quetta Gladiators, in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan.
