LAHORE: Punjab WASA’s specialised training wing, the Al-Jazari Water & Sanitation Academy (AJWA), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WWF-Pakistan to promote water security, conservation and climate resilience across the province.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chairman Punjab WASA Chaudhry Sher Ali Khan, Director General Punjab WASA Tayyab Farid and Principal AJWA Dr. Souman Khalid.
Director General WWF-Pakistan Hammad Naqi Khan and Principal AJWA Dr. Souman Khalid formally signed the MoU on behalf of their organisations.
Under the partnership, Punjab WASA and WWF-Pakistan will work together to strengthen technical capacity, support joint research and promote sustainable water management practices.

The collaboration will also focus on sharing technical knowledge and developing climate-resilient approaches to address growing water challenges.
Water security has become increasingly important as climate change, population growth and rising demand put greater pressure on available water resources. Improved conservation and sustainable management can help protect water supplies and strengthen the resilience of communities.
The partnership between AJWA and WWF-Pakistan is expected to provide opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional training and research while supporting more sustainable approaches to water and sanitation management.
The two organisations aim to use their combined expertise to promote practical solutions for water conservation and climate resilience, contributing to long-term water security in Punjab and Pakistan.
