The development of standardised KPIs is expected to provide a clearer basis for measuring the performance of water and sanitation agencies, identifying service gaps and supporting evidence-based planning.

Effective water and sanitation management is also closely linked to public health, environmental protection and sustainable urban development. Stronger monitoring and data-based planning can help municipal agencies respond more effectively to growing demands for reliable water and sanitation services.

The collaboration between Punjab WASA and UNICEF Pakistan reflects efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve the sustainability and quality of essential municipal services across the province.
