LAHORE: A meeting of the Provincial Project Steering Committee (PPSC) reviewed progress and the future work plan of the project “Transforming the Indus Basin with Climate Resilient Agriculture and Water Management.”
The meeting was chaired by Secretary Planning and Development Board Punjab Rafaqat Ali and focused on key achievements of the project as well as planned activities for 2026–28.
The committee reviewed measures aimed at promoting climate-resilient farming, strengthening institutional capacity and improving water governance across the Indus Basin.
The forum stressed the need to accelerate implementation and strengthen coordination among relevant government departments to ensure that project activities are completed within the planned timeframe.
The project aims to support agricultural communities in responding to climate-related challenges while promoting more efficient and sustainable management of water resources.
Improved coordination between institutions, stronger technical capacity and climate-smart agricultural practices can help strengthen the resilience of farming communities and water systems across the Indus Basin.
