On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the province has issued new prices for flour and wheat.
The food department has announced updated rates detailing the cost of a 10 kg bag of flour in various cities across Punjab.
In Lahore and Rawalpindi, a 10kg bag of flour will now cost Rs 900. Meanwhile, in Attock and Jhelum, the price is fixed at Rs 890 and it will be Rs 870 in Chakwal, Sheikhupura and Kasur.
In Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Wazirabad, Hafizabad and Gujranwala, the rate is Rs 820 per 10 kg bag. Similarly, in Sialkot, Narowal, Chiniot and Nankana, the price remains at Rs 820. In Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Multan and Lodhran, the price is fixed at Rs 800 per 10 kg bag.
Further south, in Sahiwal, Pakpattan and Bahawalpur, a 10kg bag of flour is also priced at Rs 800. The rate comes down to Rs 790 in Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan. In Layyah, DG Khan, Khanewal, Vehari and Bhakkar the price is Rs 780 and in Mianwali, Khushab and Jhang it is also Rs 780.
Finally, in Muzaffargarh, the rate for a 10 kg bag of flour is fixed at Rs 770 and in Rajanpur at Rs 760.
The spokesperson of the food department emphasized that these adjustments aim to stabilize the market and ensure affordability for the public.
This pricing policy is part of the government’s broader efforts to control inflation and provide relief to citizens amid fluctuating economic conditions. The updated rates are effective immediately and are expected to be strictly enforced in all relevant markets and dealers in the province.
