Peshawar: In a strategic move aimed at strengthening its political influence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has entered into an alliance with the Sunni Ittehad Council.
The PTI plans to submit the list of reserved seats to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today, according to party sources.
The merger between the PTI and the Sunni Ittehad Council will significantly affect the political landscape of the province. Party insiders revealed that the merged entity will be entitled to 23 special seats along with three minority seats in the provincial assembly.
The list of reserved seats, consisting exclusively of PTI nominees, will be formally submitted to the ECP today,” party sources confirmed, stressing the consolidation of the alliance’s political agenda.
PTI sources said that the two political entities have entered into an ‘unconditional alliance’. This underscores a strategic maneuver aimed at consolidating political power in the region.
After presenting the list of reserved seats, both parties are ready to assert their influence and representation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, paving the way for potential political cooperation and legislative initiatives.
