BAHAWALPUR: Government of Punjab has appointed Dean Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum as Vice Chancellor Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur. In this regard, the Higher Education Department has issued a notification.
Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum has been serving as a professor in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for the past 11 years. She is nationally recognized as an expert teacher of medicinal and natural product chemists. She has authored over 140 research papers and co-authored over 13 books in addition to one US patent. She has supervised dozens of MS and PhD theses so far. She conceptualized and implemented Pakistan’s first Inter-University Consortium on Climate Change, which includes more than eighty universities and institutions, overseeing the Cholistan Ancient Architecture Project as the Director of the Culture and Heritage Center. Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum was awarded the 25 Women 2022 honor by the University of Michigan, USA. She is a Fellow of the Islamic World Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Culture Education Spain. The Third World of Sciences Italy awarded him the Youngest Chemistry Award. The Government of Pakistan awarded him Aizaz Kamal, Presidential Award and Ms. Fatima Jinnah Medal. Education circles have termed the appointment of Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum as Vice Chancellor of Government Sadiq College Women University as a good omen for the educational and social development of the region.
