Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has said that a tough decision will be taken due to the poor performance of the national team in the T20 World Cup.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that those who made wrong decisions in the selection committee will be prosecuted. Any international player who has not played domestically cannot return to the national team; Only those who have performed in domestic cricket are eligible for a place in the squad.
He said that no decision has been taken on the possible change of captaincy, but he will take any decision after consulting the former cricketer. The head coach and 4-5 committee members will also discuss the captaincy. Haven’t met Babar Azam or Wahab Riaz since the mega event.
Explaining the issues related to the league, central contract and domestic cricket, Mohsin Naqvi said that the players should understand that Pakistan comes first and others later. No NOK will be issued to cricketers who claim NOK for the league before the Test round.
Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan requested NOC for GT20.
As far as central contracts are concerned, the PCB chairman was unanimous that only those who meet the fitness standards will be given contracts. Pass the mandatory fitness test for domestic and international cricket without compromise.
Commenting on the incident involving the abuse of Haris Rauf by a fan in the US, Mohsin Naqvi said that those who abuse Pakistani cricketers at home or abroad will not be spared. He urged the misbehaving people to come to Pakistan soon where the FIA would welcome them.
