The Islamabad Police attempted to arrest Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Senator Mushtaq Ahmed after he returned from the “Gaza Solidarity March” on Sunday.
Ahmed said on X (formerly Twitter): “Islamabad police tried to arrest me. There were children and my family in the car. The police chased my car. Efforts were even made to snatch the mobile phones from my son and the driver.’
“I was asked to show my ID. When I showed my identity card, the policemen threatened me,” Ahmed added.
Additionally, there was a heated exchange between the officers and Ahmed.
– JI calls for political stability –
Besides, JI Supreme Leader Liaqat Baloch called for political stability on Sunday.
Expressing his thoughts, Baloch said, “Political stability can only be achieved through transparent polls. All tactics have been used to keep JI away from the masses.”
Emphasizing the importance of voters, Baloch said, “The decision of the voters should be accepted.”
