The father of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, Pat Mahomes Sr., was arrested by police in Tyler, Texas on Saturday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol (DWI), Yahoo Sports reported.
Mahomes Sr. was charged and later released on $10,000 bail, according to jail records.
The charge against the person arrested was “driving while intoxicated, third or more.” Two prior DWI convictions, one from 2012 and one from 2018, are also listed in jail records.

However, the Kansas City Star reported that Mahomes Sr pleaded guilty to his 2018 DWI offense and was sentenced to 40 days in jail.
The former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher served his sentence on weekends from 2019 to 2020.
