ISLAMABAD: After former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi refused to contest the general elections, the Pakistan Muslim League-N has nominated a new candidate from Murree.
The party has officially announced its candidates for Murree NA-51 and PP-6 constituencies. Raja Usama Ashfaq, a young candidate, has won the party’s ticket to contest in NA-51 constituency. Usama Ashfaq is the son of former provincial minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.
For PP-6, the party has given ticket to Bilal Yamin Satti, former union council president Nadha in Kahuta. NA-51 and PP-6 ticket notifications for National and Provincial Assemblies have been issued.
Meanwhile, PML-N has written off Daniyal Aziz and Aisha Rajab Ali by not giving them tickets for the 2024 elections.

Moreover, there is still uncertainty over the award of ticket to Talal Chaudhry, a leader closely associated with the Sharif family, from NA-96 Jaranwala. Sources suggest that the party is considering giving ticket to Nawab Sher Waseer in NA-96 Jaranwala, with a final decision expected tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Aisha Rajab Ali, a former member of the National Assembly from the PML-N, has declared that she will contest the upcoming elections as an independent candidate after Daniyal Aziz announced that he will do the same.
Expressing her disappointment, she said her contribution to the party was evident as she attended all meetings and played a role in mobilizing the party at various forums.
Aisha Rajab has confirmed her decision to contest as an independent candidate from NA-97 Tandlianwala in the 2024 general elections.
