PIND DADAN KHAN — The Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) has launched a nationwide “Say No to Plastic Bags” campaign across its projects and offices as part of its environmental sustainability efforts.
The initiative was conceived and led by PMDC’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Department under the supervision of General Manager ESG Umair Aslam Butt. Officials said the campaign reflects the corporation’s commitment to responsible mining practices and environmental protection.
The campaign was formally inaugurated in Khewra by Managing Director Asad Ahmed (PE). During the launch, environmentally friendly and reusable bags were distributed among employees, staff and contractors to encourage reduced plastic usage at operational sites.
PMDC officials said the initiative aims to minimize plastic waste across its facilities and align corporate operations with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.
The corporation stated that the campaign represents another step toward promoting sustainable industrial practices and environmental responsibility within Pakistan’s mining sector.
