Alia Rashid was appointed under PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf. Sources said that Alia Rashid was under a lot of pressure after releasing her captain’s statement without consulting Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has appointed Babar Azam as the white-ball captain (ODI and T20I) of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team following the unanimous recommendation of the PCB selection committee.
Babar Azam replaces Shaheen Shah Afridi as T20 captain. ‘King Babar’ also became the ODI skipper after a five-month absence. Babar Azam stepped down as ODI captain after missing out on the 2023 World Cup.
