The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to star cricketers Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi for the Global T20 League in Canada.
According to a PCB spokesperson, the decision is driven by the upcoming busy cricket schedule and the need to manage the workload of these key players.
The PCB, after “careful consideration” with the national team management and the selection committee, decided that the trio’s participation in the Global T20 League would conflict with their commitments to the national team.
“The board has received NOC requests from Babar, Rizwan and S3haheen but has decided not to release them due to the extensive engagements of the players over the next eight months,” the spokesperson said.
Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi are an integral part of Pakistan’s cricket setup across all formats. Their absence from key national assignments would be significantly detrimental, hence the PCB’s stance of prioritizing national duties over foreign participation in the league.
The spokesperson further clarified that the decision is in line with the PCB’s workload management policy, which aims to ensure that players are fit and ready for national duties.
