Melbourne: Passengers on a local Australian airline were shocked after police arrested a barefoot runner.
The man accused of bad behavior allegedly knocked down a flight attendant and forced the plane back. However, the flight crew immediately informed the police, which led to his arrest at the airport.
Speaking to foreign media, the Melbourne Airport Authority said the incident took place on the east coast near the west coast city of Perth between Monday and Tuesday night, causing a 3.5-hour Virgin Australia flight delay.
Airline officials said flight VA696 had returned to Perth Airport due to a “disturbed passenger” and Australian Federal Police officers were waiting to arrest the man.
Meanwhile, Australian police said the man, who was arrested in a panic attack, has been taken to hospital for evaluation. Research based on medical reports only.
