President Asif Ali Zardari said on Friday that the people of Pakistan stand with Palestine.
Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed Jawad Rabei called on President Zardari in Islamabad. The Palestinian envoy briefed President Zardari on Israeli atrocities in the Gaza Strip.
On the occasion, President Zardari vowed to raise the voice of the people of Palestine on all platforms. “The people of Palestine are brave and have been fighting the Israeli occupation for a long time,” he added.
President Zardari asked the international community to ensure the protection of Palestinian citizens.
“The international community should play its role in providing humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,” President Zardari added.
Iranian envoy calls on President Zardari
In addition, the Iranian ambassador, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam separately challenged President Zardari.
On this occasion, the President decided to further strengthen bilateral relations with Iran. “There is wide scope for promoting economic cooperation in various sectors between the two countries,” President Zardari added.
President Zardari emphasized the need to join hands with Iran to overcome common problems faced by both countries.
The Iranian envoy congratulated President Zardari on assuming the office of President.
