RAWALPINDI: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with senior ministers, visited Pakistan’s Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) on Thursday during his official trip. He was welcomed by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who accompanied the delegation through the facility.
The Uzbek President was briefed on GIDS’ defence and industrial capabilities, including technological innovations and locally produced systems. The delegation inspected key facilities and viewed products that demonstrate Pakistan’s growing expertise in indigenous defence production.
Officials said the visit underscored Pakistan and Uzbekistan’s commitment to deepen collaboration in defence, technology, and industry. Both sides emphasized expanding partnerships and pursuing joint initiatives to strengthen bilateral relations.
