ISLAMABAD: Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed on Monday to express the full support of the Pakistani nation to the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination as per UN resolutions.
The day was declared a public holiday.
In a press release issued by the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, all arrangements have been made to celebrate Kashmir Solidarity Day in a befitting manner at home and abroad today.
It says that Solidarity Walks will be organized across the country and in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
At 09:30 a minute’s silence was observed to pay tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir.
In connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day, a meeting of the Ministry of External Affairs on the Constitution Class was held in Islamabad.
Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shah, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi, Minister for Privatization Fawad Hassan Fawad, Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmad, Minister for Foreign Affairs Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi and people from various walks of life are among the participants of the rally.
They are raising slogans in support of Kashmiri people.
They carry placards with slogans calling attention to Indian atrocities in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Posters and billboards were displayed around important avenues, airports and railway stations to highlight the plight of Kashmiris.

In connection with this day, debate and declamation competitions and essay writing competitions are organized in educational institutions.

President Dr. Arif Alvi, Interim Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and the Armed Forces Chiefs said that Pakistan will continue to extend its unreserved moral, diplomatic and political support for a just settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people .
President Dr. In his message on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Arif Alvi said that the people of India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been trying to realize their right to self-determination for the past seventy-six years.
He said that Indians have illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is one of the most militarized zones in the world.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in his message said it is an opportunity to pay rich tribute to the sacrifices made by our Kashmiri brothers and sisters during the last seventy six years.
He said that the relevant UN Security Council resolution stipulates that the final decision on Jammu and Kashmir will be made in accordance with the will of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under the auspices of the United Nations.
The Armed Forces of Pakistan, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Service Chiefs have paid rich tributes to the people of Kashmir for their determination and valiant struggle, which has consistently faced grave human rights violations and inhuman confinement in India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir under the Indian occupation forces. .
